To facilitate the cleaning of holy trail and the lake, we have a huge task to perform. We need support and cooperation from each one of you, in all ways possible. First of all, please build the awareness among fellow pilgrims, sherpas, locals whom you come across as yak/horse men or women, porters, and others using the trail. If you see someone perform a puja ritual at the lake beach or at Dolma La on the trail, and notice them leave behind any empty containers, plastic covers, or other non-biodegradable materials, please immediately point it out to them that they need to pick it up and clean up after themselves. Please bring it out to them that they need to be responsible for their action. Even before pointing out something to anyone else, you will need to lead by example, and make sure that you not just pick up all your stuff but also pickup something left behind by our fellow pilgrims from the previous yatras. When the locals will see the pilgrims lead by such examples, they are bound to take notice and follow you. It is their land: you are simply visiting it for a couple of weeks. It is in their best interest to have it cleaned, as they would enjoy this cleanliness forever. You need to tell them so. If you meet any government officials, ask them for advice on procedure for involvement of government in the project. We are all in it together. Cutting across the boundaries of nations, Kailash and Manasarovar are scared to all religions of the world, as is being revealed in the forthcoming book ‘Face to Face with Shiva - Scientific Perspective of a Spiritual Experience.’ Based on true experience of the author, this book will outline the very purpose of life for each one of us on the planet, and our relationship to Shiva. Bring the trash you pick to a recycling point or where it can be disposed off in an appropriate, environment-friendly manner. We need your help and involvement in inventing newer ways to eliminate or minimize the impact of human activity during yatra season on the environment of these sacred sites. A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. By making a commitment to keep these sacred sites clean and motivating others to do the same, you have taken the very first step in the direction of serving the divine with all your effort and sincere devotion. We also need your help to fund the ambitious IIIHH (International Institute for Integrated Health and Healing) project. Year after year, we notice our fellow pilgrims succumb to the hardship of high altitude sickness and other vulnerabilities. Building an integrated medical facility right here at the site would be a service to the divine and humanity alike. All yatris come to this sacred site to fulfill the ultimate desire of their life. It is for each one of us to see the divine in them and do all that is possible to minimize their hardships during the yatra. The proposed IIIHH campus at the holy site would also become the only reputed medical facility in this entire vicinity. The holy site by itself has a potential to heal. IIIHH would build on the belief of this potential to help faster healing. IIIHH project would bring employment and livelihood to the local population of this region. Simple, as they are, they deserve our cooperation and help to raise the standard of their living and bring the very basic amenities to this inaccessible area.
